Colombo Dockyard of PLC (CDPLC) was established in 1974 and performs as Sri Lanka’s leading ship repair, shipbuilding and heavy engineering company. Since 1993, CDPLC operates in joint collaboration with ONOMICHI DOCKYARD CO. LTD of Japan. The company is Board of Investment registered and Colombo Stock exchange listed. CDPLC is located within the port of Colombo which is considered as a shipping hub for all major shipping lanes connecting the West, the Middle East, Far East, Africa and Australia.
The dockyard operates with four dry docks with a maximum capacity of 125,000 Dead Weight Tons (DWT). These dry docks are being used for ship repair and shipbuilding projects. The company is well established with the experience over 40 years and is an active competitor for large shipbuilding companies of the world.
